Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out how Baetnil (the "App") handles location information.
Article 2 (What it is used for)
· to show wind, waves, tides and marine warnings for where you are
· to pick the tide station nearest the boat's home port and convert a measured depth
to the lowest-tide datum
· to show only the warnings for the waters the boat is in
· to post berths you mark on the map to the community
· to draw the routes you record in the logbook
Article 3 (Current position)
1. Your current position (GPS) is received only when you permit it on your device.
2. What happens to the value depends on how it is used:
a. to set a weather spot - it stays on your device and is not sent to the server;
b. to record a departure, waypoint or arrival in the logbook - it is stored on the
server as part of that voyage record.
3. You can use the whole App if you refuse. Simply choose a spot yourself.
4. You may withdraw permission at any time in your device settings.
Article 4 (Coordinates stored on the server)
1. Home port and berth coordinates are values you mark on the map yourself.
2. Voyage coordinates are current position (GPS) values captured when you record a
departure, waypoint or arrival. They are shown on screen, and you can correct them on
the map or remove them with Delete.
3. Voyage coordinates can be seen only by that boat's crew. They are never published even
if the boat is made public.
4. Berth coordinates are published to the community. You can check them on screen before
posting, and you can delete them afterwards.
Article 5 (Retention)
Stored coordinates are kept until you delete them, or until you leave, and are then destroyed.
Article 6 (Disclosure to third parties)
Location information is not given to anyone else. It is disclosed only where there is a
lawful requirement to do so.
Article 7 (Your rights)
You may withdraw consent to the collection, use and provision of your location information
at any time, and you may ask to see or delete what is stored. Contact: jaha814@gmail.com
Article 8 (Children under 14)
The App does not accept anyone under 14, so no location information is received from them.
